Frequently Asked Questions

  • Dr. Porter offers individual therapy to adults in the state of Oregon.

  • Please click on the “Getting Started” tab and complete the form. There is a current waitlist. Dr. Porter will confirm that she has received your inquiry and will provide you an estimate of when an opening will be available.

  • Dr. Porter will ask you to explain your reason for seeking services. She will provide you with information about her approach to therapy for your specific needs so you can identify if you want to work with her.

  • Therapy length is highly dependent the issue you’re seeking treatment for and your specific treatment plan. In treatment with Dr. Porter, you will collaboratively make a treatment plan and Dr. Porter can provide information about timing for therapy length.

  • A 90 minute intake is $300; Individual therapy sessions after intake are $250. Dr. Porter does not accept insurance. Dr. Porter can provide you with a superbill to give to your insurance provider. It is recommended that you contact your insurance for out of network benefits to determine your specific cost.

  • If you are unable to attend your appointment, you must give 48 hours notice in advance. If you do not provide notice, you will be charged the full fee for your visit. You have the option to reschedule for another time during the week if there is availability.

  • Dr. Porter is a collaborative therapist who holds a nonjudgemental space to explore current challenges. She offers a balance of both acceptance and change when addressing difficulties. You are invited to complete the free consultation to see if she will be a good fit for your needs.
